At IFFR 2017, Anke van Diejen and Noortje van de Sande presented the results of the first year Filmthuis and the plans for the new and improved Picl (from March/ April 2017).
From Filmthuis to Picl
Filmthuis can look back om a successful first year. Since March 2016 fourteen arthouse cinemas in The Netherlands offered 42 films from fifteen independent distributors as well in their theaters as on demand on their websites.
The results are promising and participants are positive about the service. Mostly because it:
> reaches younger audience
> creates returning visitors
> extra revenue cinemas
Now, it is time for the next step. From March 2017 Filmthuis wil lbe rebrandend to Picl, with the corresponding site picl.nl. The purpose of this rebranding campaign is to generate more views through offering an improved user experience for the consumer.
